RFQ stands for Request for Quotation — on MarbleMap we call it a demand, the document that spells out, line by line, what you want to buy.
A demand is more than the question "what does it cost?"; it is a written brief of your requirement so suppliers can price it properly. It carries your product lines (stone type, quantity, dimensions), a Budget, a Delivery point, your preferred Incoterm and the GTIP / HS Code field.
Opening an RFQ is not a purchase. Once your demand is published, qualified suppliers submit sealed bids — no supplier sees a rival offer, its price, or even how many offers arrived. You compare everything on one screen on a shared EUR basis, and nothing binds you until you accept an offer. The decision stays with you.
You will rarely see the letters "RFQ" inside the app: the menu says My Demands, and you start one from New Demand. RFQ, demand and request for quotation all mean the same thing here.
