What closing means
Closing shuts your demand to new offers. The demand stops collecting bids, but every offer received up to that moment stays in place, and you can keep reviewing and comparing them on the demand's own page. So closing does not mean "delete everything" — it means "stop collecting offers".
Closing applies only to demands in the Published state. A draft you have not published yet has no close option.
How to do it
- On the My Demands page, open the three-dot More actions button on the demand's card and choose Close. If you are already on the demand's own page, use the Close demand button.
- Read the confirmation prompt. In the My Demands list you will see: "Close this demand? All suppliers will be notified." On the demand page the prompt reads "Close this demand without awarding an offer?"
- Confirm with Yes, close. On the demand page the confirmation button simply reads Yes.
The Close demand button on the demand page appears only while the demand has received no offers at all. Once the first offer arrives that button disappears, and you close the demand from the More actions menu in the My Demands list instead.
When to close
- You have collected enough offers and want to move on to evaluating what you have, without waiting for more suppliers to prepare bids.
- Your requirement has been postponed but you do not want to lose the offers already received.
- You published the demand by mistake or with incomplete information, and you want to stop the flow of offers and prepare a clean copy with Duplicate (new demand).
Closing versus cancelling
Closing stops the flow of offers; the demand and the offers received stay in your records. Cancelling, on the other hand, voids the demand entirely. Neither can be undone, but their intent differs: if you want to end your demand completely — to say "this business no longer exists" — choose cancelling rather than closing. On a published demand, the Cancel demand button appears on the demand's own page once the first offer arrives. For the details of cancelling, see the article on cancelling a demand.
After closing
- The demand's badge becomes Closed. In the Filters panel on the left of the My Demands page, click the Closed filter under the Status heading to see all your closed demands together.
- The demand can no longer be edited. The Edit option does not appear on closed demands.
- The demand's own page stays open for reading: you can still open the Offers, Details, Messages and FAQ tabs after closing, and review and compare the offers received.
- The Messages and View offers options for the demand remain in the More actions menu; you can open a closed demand's history whenever you like.
If you want to collect offers again for the same job, duplicate the closed demand with Duplicate (new demand) from the More actions menu. This opens a new draft with the content already filled in; once you adjust it and publish, suppliers can bid again.
