Does the offer drop out of comparison when I request a revision?

Last updated on Jul 29, 2026

The offer is not deleted — requesting a revision freezes it, and it stays out of compare and split-award until the supplier resubmits.

Once you use Request revision, the offer's status becomes Revision requested. It stays in your offer list, carrying the notice "Awaiting revision — this offer is out of compare/award until the supplier resubmits" plus the reason you gave, if you gave one. For that offer, Accept, Reject, Request revision and Add to compare disappear for the time being, and the comparison matrix — including the automatic best-offer flag — leaves it out.

This is different from rejecting: a rejection ends the offer, while a revision request keeps the same offer alive. When the supplier updates it and resubmits from their own offer screen, the offer returns to Submitted and re-enters compare and award — that is when you can pick a winner. Other suppliers' offers are untouched, and no rival supplier can see that you asked someone for a revision.

Only a live offer (submitted or viewed) can be sent back for revision.
