Creating an account and verifying your email

Last updated on Jul 29, 2026

Opening an account on MarbleMap takes two steps: you fill in the Create account form, then you enter the 6-digit code sent to your email address. Your account is created when the code is verified — not at the moment you submit the registration form. Once the code is verified, you sign in and complete your company details, which is why the screens show progress markers such as "Step 1 of 3" and "Step 2 of 3".

Fields on the Create account screen

The Create account screen is Step 1 of 3 of the registration flow. All of the following fields are required:

  1. First name and Last name — at least 2 characters each.
  2. Work email — this also becomes your login. As the note on the screen says, using a work email speeds up approval.
  3. Company name — at least 2 characters.
  4. Password — at least 12 characters, using at least 4 different characters.
  5. You are joining as — one of three cards.

When you leave the First name, Last name, Work email or Company name fields, any missing or invalid entry is flagged immediately below the field. The password and the role selection, on the other hand, are checked when you submit the form. You submit the form with the Create account button.

You are joining as

The role is selected from three cards:

  • Buyer — to browse suppliers and get in touch with them.
  • Supplier — to make your products visible and build business connections.
  • Both — if you both buy and supply.

This choice is more than a label; it determines the remaining steps of your approval application. If you select Buyer, you will not see the stone category step — after the company details you go straight to the application summary. For Supplier and Both, the stone categories step is also asked.

Password rule

A password must be at least 12 characters long and use at least 4 different characters. There is no requirement to add digits, capitals or symbols — length counts for more than complexity. Very common or breached passwords (such as "password123") are refused, and your password cannot contain the first part of your email address.

The Weak / Fair / Strong indicator below the field is a guide, not the rule: a password can look acceptable there and still be refused for one of the reasons above. Use the eye icon on the right to reveal the password you have typed.

Referral / Affiliate code (optional)

If a partner referred you to MarbleMap, you can enter their code in the Referral / Affiliate code field. This field is not required; you may leave it empty.

If you arrived through a link sent by a partner, the code arrives pre-filled in this field; you can change it or clear it if you wish. The code may only contain letters, digits, hyphens and underscores, and may be at most 64 characters long.

Check your email: the 6-digit code

When you submit the form, you move on to the Check your email screen (Step 2 of 3). A 6-digit verification code is sent to the address you entered; the screen shows which address it went to.

What you need to know:

  • The code is valid for 10 minutes. If it expires, you have to request a new one.
  • You have at most 5 incorrect attempts per code. Once those are used up, that code can no longer be used; request a new one.
  • When you have entered all six digits, the code submits automatically — you do not need to press a separate button.
  • You can copy the code from the email and paste it into any one of the boxes; the digits are distributed across them automatically.
  • If you typed the wrong address, the Wrong email address? Go back and change it link takes you back to the registration screen so you can start over.

If the code is incorrect or has expired, a warning appears below the boxes and the digits are cleared so you can enter them again.

If the code does not arrive: Resend

First check your spam / junk folder — the email may have landed there.

If there is still no code, use the Resend button. You have to wait about one minute between two sends; even if the countdown on the screen has finished, pressing too early will not generate a new code. In addition, a new code can be sent to the same address at most 5 times per hour. If you think you have hit this limit, wait a while and try again.

Once verification is complete, you are returned to the Sign in screen. From there you sign in with the email and password you have just created and complete your company details.

Signing up with Google

Using the Continue with Google button at the top of the registration screen, you can also open an account without setting a password. After granting permission with your Google account, you are returned to MarbleMap.

On this path there is no email code step — your address is already considered verified by Google.

If you do not have a company yet, you are directed to the Just one more step screen. Three pieces of information are required there:

  1. The role selection (Buyer / Supplier / Both),
  2. Company name,
  3. Country.

On the same screen you can also fill in the Website, VAT / Tax number, Phone and Company description fields; these are optional. When you press the Complete setup button, your company details are saved and you continue the application flow from where you left off.
