Assigning a demand to a teammate

Last updated on Jul 29, 2026

What this does

A demand you spot on the Marketplace often falls within someone else's area of expertise at your company. Assigning it hands ownership of that demand to a specific person on your team. That way two people don't work the same demand separately, and it is clear who will handle it.

The assignment stays inside your company: neither the buyer nor the other suppliers can see who you assigned it to.

Assigning a demand

  1. On the Marketplace list, click the Assign to teammate button on the demand card.
  2. The dialog that opens lists your company's team members by name; your own name is included as well. Click the person you want to handle it; the row you pick is highlighted.
  3. If you like, add a short direction in the Note (optional) field. The example wording shown in the field is: "This product group is your specialty — can you take a look?"
  4. Finish with the Assign button. The button stays disabled until you select a person.

Once done, the dialog closes and the card shows Assigned: {name}. If you wrote a note, it appears next to that information in shortened form; hover over it to read the full text.

You can do the same thing from the demand's detail page. Open the detail view with Review & make offer on the card, then use the Assign to teammate button on the right-hand side.

Re-assigning

If the demand is already assigned to someone, a Re-assign button appears next to that person's name on the detail page. Clicking it opens the same selection dialog with the current person pre-selected; pick a different teammate and click Assign, and ownership passes to them.

The button label on the Marketplace card does not change; even when the demand is already assigned it still reads Assign to teammate and does the same job.

There is no separate button that removes an assignment altogether. If you assigned it to the wrong person, re-assign it by selecting the right one.

Seeing the demands assigned to you

In the filter panel on the left of the Marketplace screen, tick the Assigned to me option under the Quick filters heading. The list then shows only the demands routed to you. The selection appears among the filter chips at the top as Assigned to me; remove the chip to return to the full list.

The same section also holds the Saved by my team, Saved by me and Hide ones I offered on filters, and you can combine them.

If the person you want isn't listed

If the dialog says No teammates available to assign., it means no team member is available for assignment. If you don't have a colleague to route work to yet, the company owner can send an invitation from the Invite a member area under SettingsTeam Management by entering an email address and a role. That area is visible only to the company owner, and the Invite button will not work once there are no free team seats left. The person appears in the assignment list after the invitation is accepted.

If the list does not load at all, you will see the warning "Couldn't load. Please try again." along with a Retry button. This does not mean your team has no members; it is a connection issue, so try again.

Assigning vs. saving

The two look similar but do different jobs:

  • Save is a bookmark. You flag the demand for yourself without routing any work to anyone. Your teammates can see your bookmark under the Saved by my team filter.
  • Assign to teammate sets who owns the demand; the assignee finds it through the Assigned to me filter. Since your own name is in the list, you can also assign a demand to yourself.

Assigning does not restrict anyone's right to submit an offer. Other members of your company can still see the demand on the Marketplace and prepare an offer if needed. Assigning simply answers the question of who is looking after this demand.
