MarbleMap covers natural stone and composite surfaces: natural stone families such as marble, travertine, granite, onyx and limestone, plus engineered surfaces such as quartz surface, sintered stone and terrazzo. Stone services — cutting and fabrication, installation — sit in the taxonomy as their own family.
Each family has sub-categories beneath it; marble, for example, breaks down into Carrara, Calacatta and Emperador. The category tree is managed centrally by the platform and kept current, so the family names above are not an exhaustive list — the live tree is the one you see in the app.
Where you pick a category: as a buyer, you choose it in the Category field while creating your demand, and suppliers reach you based on that choice. As a supplier, you tick the categories you work with at the Stone categories step of your application — Select at least one applies, and you can pick several. On the Marketplace screen you can narrow the list with the Category filter, or use All categories to see everything.
If you cannot spot the type you need in the tree, type into Search category….
