No — opening a demand commits you to nothing; no obligation arises until you accept an offer.
A demand is simply an RFQ describing what you're looking for: stone type, quantity, delivery terms, budget. Once it's published, suppliers matching your category submit sealed offers, and you compare them all on one screen. The most favourable offer is flagged automatically, but the final call always stays with you.
That's why every exit stays open:
- Not ready yet? Keep the demand as a Draft and don't publish it.
- Don't like an offer? Turn it down with Reject, or pick none at all.
- Changed your mind? Use Close demand to close it without awarding anything.
You are bound only from the moment you choose Accept. At that point an order is created, and contract, payment, shipping and invoicing run between you and the supplier you picked. MarbleMap is not a party to that trade and takes no cut of the sale — the platform earns from subscriptions only.
So opening a demand is how you test the market at no risk: you see real prices and delivery terms, compare them, and walk away if nothing fits. Buyers start free, and nothing is promised upfront just to collect offers.
